Lift for Vet Installation - (9/22/2017)

LOCAL 5 BROTHERS, MIKE CONNELLY AND CHARLES McDONNELL VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO HELP ONE OF OUR OWN- LOCAL 5 RETIRED BROTHER GARY DIETZ

Dear Local 5,
    YOU ARE OUR THANKSGIVING BLESSING!  
 
     We are overwhelmed with heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Joe Williams, Local 5 Business Manager, Billy Johnston, Mike Connelly, Charlie McDonnell and all of Local 5.  My husband, Gary Dietz, Local 5 retiree, reached out to Joe Williams, who arranged and provided equipment and volunteer manpower to install a stair lift today (Sat. 9/16/17) for me, Carolyn, Gary's wife of 40 years.
    Thanks to NEI Medical insurance, I'm a first generation, 12 year incurable cancer survivor, on a daily regimen of targeted oral chemotherapy.  We were at a point of insanity, challenged by a series of failed surgeries, for both Gary and myself, presently requiring my need for a stair lift.
     Joe, Billy, Mike, and Charlie, you fellas went above and beyond, with your kindness and support, like a family does, as Union brothers, helping and supporting another Union Brother, making our daily life easier, and uplifting our spirit.
     Although Gary served 4 years in US Navy and I served 5 years in Army Reserves, we are not paralyzed Vets, and had no expectation of assistance.  You all made a huge difference in our quality of life, and we sincerely thank you, for giving us such a wonderful blessing!
